Sheets bouncing in front lays causing registration problems on 2nd pass any ideas?

Hi guys iam running a heidelberg speedmaster 102, its a 5 col plus coater but 5th unit is not in operation machine is in a bad condition too many operators b4 me, simple stuff isn't how it should be, iam having problems with the sheet going over lay and sheets bouncing in front lays so i cant register my 5th color on 2nd pass any ideas tx

Sounds like your timing is off. Jog sheet onto board and advance it as you watch. sheet should be released a couple of mm before head stops and also side lay should start to push or pull after sheet is released. Check gap of side lay if push type or pressure if pull type. Too much will bend edge of sheet or too little won't pull to the edge of the lay.

Not sure think its a 91 model, but timing motor has been disconnected so i cant retard and the lay is straight with certain stocks sometimes i have to move the back wheels 40mm away from the back edge of sheet for it to runn and it still runs into lay i dnt understand that

You can retard manually. Look in your operation manual for degree values of sheet arrival.
