Hello guys finaly the engineer was here yesterday & he says the encoder is causing all the trouble. So he will be back with a new one. Will keep you posted on the end result.

Thank you guys for your response, i think we are now sorted. We have just changed the main motor encoder like Tonythetiger suggested and the machine is fine. Once again thank you. Well if anyone is looking for an encoder i have one(brand new) up for sale @ZAR5 000,00.

What type of main motor Amp do you have? What error is displayed on the main motor Amp? Encoder faults are not common on LS40 presses. Problems with the main motor brakes also are not common. Belt problems, too loose, oil contamination , etc are common. Encoders are used on Komori's with AC motors. Most of the LS40's have DC motors/drives and common problems are related to the motor brushes wearing too short.
