The feeder on my 102 perfector has been cutting out after about 5 revolutions. last night the feeder stopped and has not come back on. Please help.

What is the machine age? What error does it show? You should always provide more details about your machine, possible error messages if you expect an immediate help or supprot from us.

  • SM102 98/99 There are no error messages. It's just the feeder will not engage.

Is it CPTronic or CP2000? If it is CPTronic machine, then look to "Warning" and send some photos from the entire press and Feeder menus.
Where does the last sheet stop? At the front lays, middle of table or it goes into the machine?

It is a CPTronic, attached are some photos of the error screens. When the feeder was engaging it had no rhyme or reason to when it stopped. Now the feeder will not engage at all to feed sheets.

So, there are actually errors. The error in the first photo is addressing "Sheet loss" in perfecting unit. It can be a format misadjustment or the sensor is dirty. By opening and closing sheet removal door on perfecting unit, the error will be acknowledged. Check if there is paper fall down. If so, check the format, then check if there is enough vacuum air on the suckers on transfer cylinder.

    Good luck

also double sheet problems which can prevent the feeder from starting

I went under the press but there weren't any sheets blocking the sensor. in the book it says this fault means a dirty perfecting monitor sensor so went under and cleaned the sensor and reflector, the error still didn't go away. when i take the press out of perfect everything works as it should.

I did all of that and it still won't run in perfect, but it runs fine in straight print.

If all else checks out, you may have a failed reflective barrier, given dropped sheet icon is present even after clearing sheets and cleaning sensor.

Also, Alex, you may try resetting (unplug and plug back in) all of boards in main cabinet, as a pin connection issue may be culprit.

  • All fixed the sensor under the press was a little skewed and not hitting the reflector properly.
