I have a very serious register problem on Cyan unit(2nd) unit from black(1st unit).
proble is that the image on this unit seems to print a shorter image than black, same Cyan unit is a perfecting unit, plwase assist me with any information of help.

thanx.

Take out 004" inch packing from under the cyan plate then put it under the blanket, adjust cylinder pressure accordingly.

  • this happens to be the factory packing(self adhesive),is it ok for me to remove it?

Yes, you can remove it and use paper/card packing. You will probably have to use a solvent to dissolve the adhesive though.

Having said that, if you remove all the current self adhesive packings for new ones, you might not need to to do what I posted earlier, after a while, some of those packings can change in thickness due to solvents and or rust appearing under them. I ran a MOV and we had much better luck with paper packings as you can adjust them for fit purposes.

Chances are if you have a register issue it is more than likely caused by your reversing cylinder. Check to see how much play you have in your pincer bar grippers. The fixed gripper should have slight movement, barely noticable. The spring loaded grippers should be spring loaded, force the grippers up and down watching carefully the gripper next to it to see movement. Again, movement should be barely noticable. If you have a dial indicator it should be less than .10mm. Im guessing a rebuild of your reversing drum. Not horribly expensive but time consuming.

Excuse me if I'm wrong exheidmech but isn't the Perfector between units 2 and 3 on this press? So if his fit problem is on the cyan which is his 2nd unit, this is being printed before the Perfector even grips the sheet???

If the Perfector is between 1 and 2 then ignore my post?

the op states that his perfector is in the cyan or 2nd unit. This means before the second impression.

Again, correct me if I'm wrong but a Perfector is between units not really part of a unit or is it, it's another transfer, maybe the OP can clarify because I have seen MOFPs for sale with the Perfector between units 2 and 3? I agree, if the Perfector is before printing Cyan, then that could be the problem with which you state.

sorry for delaying to reply,I have two perfecting units, the second and third unit, though I am having the problem on the second unit, the name plate on the press doesn't indicate 2P,so I think its a customized press, when you print black (1st unit) with magenta (3rd unit),the register is ok,so am ruling out the pincer gripper as for now,am I RIGHT?

And yes,the perfector is before cyan, and another one before magenta, though the magenta unit is printing well.

just to clarify,I have perfector units as 2nd and 3rd units, its a five colour press but the fith unit is not in use,so its basically used as a four colour press.

Most 5 color MOs have perfector between 2 and 3 but it's also possibe to get it between 1 and 2. When describing location of perfector is best to say between which units. When saying it's in a unit most techs will think the reversing cylinder is before the impression of the unit you are describing. You have an issue between 1 and 2, if the perfector is between 2 and 3 perfector is not the issue.

The reversing cylinders are between black and cyan,(1st and 2nd units) before cyan impression cylinder and also between cyan and Magenta (2nd and 3rd units) before magenta impression cylinder, I hope its clear now.

So the confusion is then in your original post. You said you have a MOFP when you actually have a MOFPP. Knowing that would have made this a lot easier. Please look at your perfector like I stated in the post above

exheidmech,I realise that, only that on the press name plate its mofp+h,thus in one of my posts ,I had stated it might be a customized press, would you by any chance have a PDF mechanical service manual or factory specs/settings done on the pincer gripper and impression grippers?

    Dear Sir:

I have service manual complete for MOFP. reach me to :ercupa@turbonett.com.ni BUT i will charge it in PDF.

some mechanical problem would be exist between 1 and 2nd units with the perfector system

    sincerely.

    God bless you

    Happy New Year.
