Going through fuser rolls too fast

We are using fuser fluid 2. I know it's going through fuser fluid because I have to refill it, and it's not leaking anywhere that I can see.

What kind of paper are you running?
I find when running large quantities of uncoated, rough(ish), stock it uses more fuser fluid than say on a coated stock like silk.

What condition are your external heat rollers in?

I know the revision of those rollers have a coating on them that is supposed to keep the fuser roll fresher, longer, better. But if they have a lot of gunk built up on them they can also wick oil off the fuser roll as well as damage it. A few ScotchBrite pads and some patience can fix the latter issue.

Tried swapping to the rougher ones. No idea if I installed them wrong or what, but the problem actually got a little worse. We're back on the smooth external rolls for now. The smooth ones are in good shape. No scratches, no marks, no stains. According to the specifications on the PSIP, the contact arc is set correctly.

I'm following this thread pretty intently. I'm experiencing the same issue on my iGen 150 heat roll right now. Large globules of melted toner are developing around the circumference of the heat roll. I can clean them off with a cleaning pad but they return a few hundred sheets later. I've logged a call for a service tech to come out.

I'm thinking maybe one or more of the oil outlets are blocked causing dry patches to develop on the heat roll.

Keep the suggestions coming guys.

just a thought.. they found a fan was not working on our Igen.. we have been cooking our fuser roller and killing it premature.. 250k-300k impresions

^ I Would kill to get that many impressions per fuser roll.

Where having the same problem with the toner build up on the fuser rollers but this is with using 100gsm Uncoated. We've tried various brands and various paper scripts but still after about 7-8k we start to get toner transfer on the fuser roller then this results inpicking off the final print!!

We use to get the same problem with Xerox Colour Impressions 170 silk but after changing the paper script this seems to have solved that problem...but not with the 100gsm.

Can I ask what seems to be a good 100gsm uncoated stock to try with what paper script to use with it?

As far as toner getting stuck to the roller... maybe increasing your fuser web speed would help?
