AB Dick mgd settings

I have a MGD22 (ab dick 385) it had been sitting for years before we started it up
and tried to get it running properly. I'm getting the plate to ink up fine but the
blanket is not inking up evenly. The operators side is strong the nop side is weak.
In the attached photo is what I believe to be the mechanisms to correct the problem
(what is circled in the photo) Not sure what the screw cap is for (arrow).
Anyone with AB Dick experience?

Try loosening the bottom bolt, It is you plate to blanket pressure. You should see a slight bounce of that bottom bar as you feed paper and the press go's on impression. also use some WD 40 and spray all your pivot points on that assembly in case it is gummed up with dry grease since you haven't run the press in a long while.

I Adjusted the bottom bolt to get an even pressure side to side,
I'm still curious about the the adjustment where the arrow is pointed in the picture.
Is it used to control the bounce and are there any specs to set the gap or pressure?

Hey Saic, yes, controls the plate to blanket bounce by spring adjustment(just below the arrow). I adjust "by eye/ear" but haven't the need in many years. Tell-tale would be the plate wearing out before specs, considering fountain is correct. Nice clean press - I grease those springs.
