I am making this new thread because its different then the last. The impression cylinder support arms broke on both sides so I had to take them off to get them repaired. They are the arms that create pressure for the impression cylinder to the blanket. When the arms were taken off the cylinder, the cylinder did rotate a bit. I thought I would mention that in caae thats important. I put the arms back on but I notice there is not much pressure? The screw and nut both are hardly screwed in which should give you the max amount of press when pulling the latch. I cant figure out why I cant get preasure anymore like before I changed the arms Not only that but you know how you can rotate the impression cylinder vertically to move your image? I can no longer spin it all the around 360 degrees. It only lets you spin like 300 degrees then something stops it from continueing to rotate??? So I decided to take the arms off again and move the cylinder a bit with the arms off then I stuck them back on. Now I still cant get pressure but its worse, when I turn the cylinder it stops at a certain point because the grippers that grab the paper hit the cylinder causing a jam and and I have no ideahow this is happening? Also, the clips that detect if a sheet of paper is coming into the press is is not nsync anymore with the feeder. Basicly the suction cups will pick the paper up but the paper will get jammed by the clips (fingers) that detect if a sheet came through or not by going down before the paper already went in jamming the paper once it did go in. Everything has gone wrong
I thought I would put the arms back and everything would work just as it did...
It seems like the impression cylinder is not sitting maybe where it should be which is why I cannot get hard pressure and maybe why the paper grippers are jamming against it. I see the impression cylinder sitting on teeth so how else do I put the cylinder in place? I can only grab the shafts it has on the side through the little holes which go into the support arms?
My questions:
1.Why is the cylinder jamming up against the paper grippers? Is the cylinder sittin in the wrong place? I am limited in moving it because I can only grab the shaft on the side of the cylinder when the support arms are off. Does the press need to be sitting in a certain setting when the support arms go back on?
2. When the support arms are off is it okay to move the other cylinders and just leave the impression cylinder hanging without support arms or did something happen to screw all this up? The impression cylinder might have turned a bit on its own with the teeth catching grip else where while no arms attached. But I assume this is fine right?
3. Why can I not get pressure after putting back the support arms back? For exemple, the arm on the control side, the left side has a screw that you screw in to losen the pressure. The right side is jas a nut. I think if you screw that nut all the way in it also losens pressure also right? Because when I tighten that nut it does not cause more pressure but less I think less. So if I keep the nut and the screw all the way down that should give the most amount of pressure right? If true why cant I get lots of pressure after I put it back together? It should start with lots of press then losen once you put the nut and screw in the support arm.
4. Why is the paper detecter clips coming down before the paper even feeds? Why us ut not synced like before?
This is such a mess I been messing with for days trying to get it to work. I hope someone here knows why this is happening and how to put the impression cylinder back on correctly by holding thr shafts of it on the side when I slide the support arms on so everything goes back to normal...
