Been running Abdick presses for close to 40 years. Worked in several shops before going into business myself in 1990. At one time I was doing better than average I’d say. Hired a couple of guys to keep up. One was with me for 18 years. We did all kinds of work even a little four color. Nothing to brag about but decent for Abdick. Mostly dealt with brokers. I was lucky I guess. They all paid pretty well and out of the 3 main ones I worked with I probably had 20 different companies I was actually doing work for through them. Never made a sales call in my life. Word of mouth was all we needed to stay busy. Now things are drying up for shops like mine and it’s been a good living but now I’m ready to retire and looking for someone to either buy everything I’ve got or at least haul it off. My equipment is all old and antiquated but has served me well. I was blessed to have had a fairly successful business. Technology has finally taken the lead and my kind of work just isn’t there anymore. Some larger clients have gone paperless and others have just ceased to operate. Covid was a big factor in some of it. Oh well I’ve had a good run and now I wanna get out of it and move to the Bahamas or somewhere in the Caribbean and live till I die. Then I’ll move on to wherever God puts me and be thankful still
