Yea, that's the transformer. I swapped that after swapping HVPS. Nothing seems to have changed.

So far I've swapped the HVPS, the transformer behind it, the rail, and the connector for the yellow charge station with no effect.

  • error sounds familiar. something touching the belt near the yellow? hair...old broken wire mod....?

funny. after I said that.... im having this exact error, after replacing the belt.

This is sounding like a toner concentration issue, which I sadly don't have the experience of fixing. I have vague memories of my tech taking out the toner concentration sensor for yellow and lightly sanding down the plastic casing around the eye to prevent the toner from clumping around it.

I thought so too, and I swapped the toner concentration sensors between the yellow and the blue, but to no avail. I can't even get the damn problem to move, let alone to stop. I'm convinced that it's a charging problem and that I just don't have a high enough voltage on the yellow charging station, but it's not the HVPS or the HVSP transformer, because both perform just fine when moved to another color. It must be dropping voltage somewhere else, but I don't know where that could be.

If you can get into PSP, we can look at your voltages and verify the values.

Still yellow background. It goes away when you first start the press for the day, but shows up after about 100 copies. Will check voltages on charge stations. Any other suggestions?

have you looked at your cleaning brushes?

I had that error last week..... the back of the cleaning brushes was filthy. vacuumed... scrubbed inside of cleaner, replaced cleaning charger...

not sure that was the fix...but its running/

  • search "magenta spitting" and peruse the threads. something to do with suction.....

i had magenta background once, cant for the life of me, remember the prob.

No go on the voltages. When running xerographics setup they all appear around the same value. Will try cleaning out the vacuum system some more. I've pretty much exhausted the charge side of the problem. I've swapped just about everything in charge system from transformers, rails, station, HVPS, and even the connector.
