I'm running a ryobi 3302m press. I had a jam in the delivery area today and i can't get the sensor to go back off so i can run the press. Can anybody help me please.

  • Where exactly did your jam happen? Did it happen all the way at the end of the delivery where the gripper bars start coming up and then go back in towards the press? If so, then you need to take a look at that shaft at the very end of the press with the 3 pins sticking out of it. Chances are they are pointing straight up to the ceiling or even back farther. They need to be pointed up towards the ink rollers of the second unit. It's not one of the sensors you can wipe off or turn off. It is a mechanical switch. If the jam was bad enough it could have messed up the switch/shaft mechanism. If remember right, the switch is on the NOPS of the delivery. Take off that cover and look at it and move the shaft and see if it is actuating the switch. If all else fails you can unplug it to get going....BUT EVENTUALLY FIX IT. If you don't the jam you had could be costing you a gripper bar or two....and you probably don't want to do that. Good Luck, let us know what you find.

Yeah I would check that bar as well if it was that far back, I know I had to get a new spring on mine once any little vibe would trip it cuz it was so loose. Hopefully you didn't jam it to the point of messing up the gripper timing that could do some bad damage, I always inch it first just to make sure my bars are good before going back to full speed.

Thank you all very much, that did fix the problem. The bar at the end was straight up with the 3 prongs on it. Thank you again.

  • I have a new problem today. I'm at work right now. I was running that press and as i was running the Delivery pile lower limit detector cam on and we can't get it off now either. We have taken all the paper out and raised and lowered the table nuerous times. We also shut the machine off to reset it, no good. You can all see that this is my first experience with this press huh?
Thanks again and any help would be great on this problem.

Unplug the connector from the switch! That should let you run. Those switches are notorious for going bad with all the powder and sometimes heat from IR dryers in the delivery area. I have worked on many presses in the past few years doing service and the majority of them have that disconnected.
