Press Fault XPE-03-4007

Getting these periodically and no idea what is causing them. They typically happen when I first start a run after turning the iGen3 on, or after I close the doors and get ready to start the machine again like after cleaning a pin-scorotron or the fuser roller. It's really annoying and requires me to do a full reboot every time. Any ideas what is causing it?

When it doesn't happen right after I start a run, it happens when I close all the doors from either fixing jams or some other problem. Could it be the 30V power supply that's cut off from those door switches that's going out? When I get the 4007 error all the fans and everything turn off.

Does the fault have a description? I haven't had any 4007s, but XPE-03 is the Control and Communication section of fault codes.

Is it any door on the engine or only a certain one?

Something somewhere is forgetting how to talk with the rest of the system.

No, it's a very vague error. It's just a general communication error somewhere between the MOB interface and everything else. We've already tried replacing the MOB to no avail. This one error causes a lot of down time. The only other thing I can think of is the main board to feed 1, which might be going out. When the PSIP boots up from a cold start, sometimes feeder 1 doesn't come up on the boot sequencer, forcing me to do the whole boot cycle over again. I don't want to go around changing more parts until I'm sure of what it is, though. Those feeder boards are $1700.

Can I assume you have a feeder 2? Try swapping boards and see if feed2 goes down?

The only issue with that is that our feeders aren't the same. One is a newer version than the other, I forget which is which. That also won't tell me what's causing the 4007, which is the biggest problem right now.

could be something as simple as an interlock...give that center door a good hard tap on ther bottom with your foot everytime you close it!!!

You can check this:
The XPE-03-4007 code is displayed if there is a loss of communication by the MOB Interface PWB. The XPE-03-5007 code is displayed if the MOB Interface PWB was reset unexpectedly. This could be caused by one of the following:
•Intermittent Figure 24P552/J1 connector at the MOB Interface PWB
•Defective MOB Interface PWB
•Electrical noise caused by arcing.
Ensure that the following connector is seated correctly and that the pins are not loose or damaged:
P552/J1 on the MOB Interface PWB.

Try doing the noise test from PSIP in diagnostics.

Just set the iterations to 1 and all concurrently. It will take a while to run.

Look for any yellow marginal or red fails for each listed item in each of the 6 tabs...SSIB,SCB, ESV1-4.

All sources pass at 1, 3 and 5 iterations of the test. Any other ideas?
