Fuse breaking in Heidelberg speed master 102 cd machine

Randomly appearing problems are always difficult to catch and locate. However, it is seen at lest two same rectifier modules (the boards with 3-phase input and 3-phase rectifier) on your first pictures. Thus we have a little luck, it looks like we have two same or two similar channels in the machine. It must be checked, how much are them same or different (by functionality and/or by power level, by sex,..), and it should be considered to perform an accurate components inter-channel swapping (IF admissible) in order to locate a problematic component(S), or to kill the machine at all for our mutual pleasure and to spite Heidelberg.

Heidelberg may know this machine, but you, and the forum must represent at least this problematic channel up to its executive element, and the second (serviceable) channel, to minimize divination. Try to trace the channel(s) on the level of its/their functional blocks.

    Good day, attached you will find , my own technic, for detect short circuit, use the Bulb'or incandescent lamp for 100watts, the lamp work very easy. If they are short in the circuit, will be LIT ON Very strong( if the short circuit is Strong) and vice versa.

    In that way, you can detect, what is the problem in the secondary trafo, with the bridge, capacitor, etc.

    By the way, the best technic to Test ANY capacitor , is measuring the ESR and see if they Bulged , otherwise, you must have problem, and the best way is to replace in the case of Electrolytic capacitor.

    If you do not have necessary Skill in electronic/electrical troubleshooting problem, as my Colleague Mr Oleg told you, look for a good electrical/electronic Tech, or Eng, for to eliminate the problem.

    Gentlemen(Mr.'s) are in London, and Oleg is simply a friend from "Moscow".

    Basically, I do not test electrolytic capacitors, but replace all them. But on this repair stage, I would not recommend blind testing or mass replacing of capacitors (currently, we have only one/two big cap's for testing - at the DC bus rectifier). A block diagram (from 3-phase mains to an executive element (a motor expected)) should be represented, drawn or recovered from a documentation if available, first. Second, a damaged module must be found/differentiated (of rectifier(s), drive/r(s), executive(s)) by several measurements and tricks. The further steps will be seen after.

    I hope such approach and practice would be useful for any field technician and engineer, who likes to service machines without any strategy nor logic even having all technical documentation (not often but near always, nowadays).

    Again, you have not provided your previous testing results in details, what was done and what was found. Please report them, and what sensor have you found as damaged, what was its damage? I would like to evaluate, how it could be connected to the fuses failure.
