If we dont wax the belt we have to replace it. Because we are a very large xerox customer we have a on-site technician who found out we could overcome replacing pr belts all the time by cleaning them. Its a bit of a struggle between our company and xerox, as we dont think the paper has changed...

Lol, when i run silk-coated stock it can do about 3-6k SRA3 prints, depending on the toner coverage, then i have to change the PR belt because something is getting on the belt, we have found a way to clean it off, car wax :) But still a fair guess would be we use about 4-5 PR belts a week..

You should be able to make an "exeption page" with for example page 1-2(duplex) on a other stock than the rest, however another stock might affect the fusing and therefore cause waiting time between each page.

My experience with printing on plastics on a igen3 isnt very good, it seems to have some troubles making a even transfer. Our xerox 800 does the job though.

We deal with theese issues alot since we print files from many different DTPs. We usually run a digital print preflight in Adobe acrobat professionel(this will flatten the layers), or try and do as stiv says and export at version 1,3. If this doesnt cut the cake we open the PDF in photoshop...

I dont think you are able to activate parralel RIP without buying a upgrade, we did that.

to be honest freeflow rip speed is generally very unimpressive, because of that we choosed a Fiery for our Xerox CP800

Do you have the parallel RIP enabled? We had alot of photo-calendars we needed to RIP during the christmas time, we reduced the RIP time alot by enabling parallel RIP.

After a few weeks with the paper catalog issue Xerox told us that updating Internet Explorer to version 9 could be the problem, we downgraded and then the catalog worked again. Wierd.
