Area 10C Sheet slipping

Hi. On our igen we don't have any inline finishers so areas 10c and 10d don't ever get used (although they still function). Has anyone had the problem where sheets will occasionally slide under the gate in 10c? It usually occurs on letter size paper, although not always. I'm wondering if that gate can be disabled so it always stays closed instead of operating like it will ever be used.

I think this occurs when paper is bowed downward and it sneakily slips under the gate, so I'm not totally sure disabling the gate will have a positive effect.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts?

If you make the paper come out face down it doesnt need to turn it before stacking, could that avoid your problem?

Oh, I never realized it actually does invert the stock at 10c...I always assumed it never used that area. I think my problem is paper related, but that's a good idea Neess I could quick fix it by stacking it face down. Thanks!

Sidenote: We have 30 or so igen3s and 4s in the Rochester area. So local businesses take advantage of the close proximity to Xerox HQ. They hire cheap operators with no knowledge of igens and train them to keep the machines running. So I never have gotten certified and the other operators that I work with have no certification either. I have to teach myself all of this information. The company I work with is discussing paying for my certification although they are skeptical of the benefits of this. In the meantime, I learn from trial and error and from technicians over time.

When I took over the IGEn (no training) the previous operator and techs had EVERY queue set to face up. never dawned on me that it was inverting simplex prints.... even had the teslin vinyl stock face up ...it ran SO much nicer when I went through and changed them all.

note: if you change queue to face down, you might have to change the print order right below. SHould be "1-n descending" could reverse your page order. Only a big problem with variable print.

Thanks Peels! I do print a lot of VIPP stuff as well, so I will have to set my queues accordingly.
