I have a Ryobi 3302 with a fountain roller problem. The water fountain roller on the 2nd head gets driven by the ductor roller. It causes to much water to reach the plate. The roller spins almost freely when pushed by hand in the correct direction. The roller on head 1 does not spin freely like that. Does anyone know how to adjust that? When the ductor is turned off the roller works properly. The adjusting knob does control how much the roller spins. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So the water fountain roller rocks back and forth? Or just forward? I'm trying to picture the conventional water system on one of those. Been since the early 90's since I ran one with molletons. And my part and instruction manuals are a couple snowstorms away. So I don't have a clear picture. I can't remember if they are pawl and ratched driven but I don't think so. Normally the water fountain rollers have a notch on the ends to engage it and those can wear and spead and cause the roller to rock back and forth. But this seems not to be the issue. My press has Kompacs and the old sytems are long gone sorry. If someone doesn't reply in the meantime I'll be back thurs night with better info. In the meantime remove the side covers and take a good look at both units. You might notice something not working? Hopefully somone else can chime in and help out here before then.

  • It's been awhile, but I believe there is a one way clutch bearing in it(rusted), and the ratchet that drives the roller needs oiling if the oil work the bearing needs changing , good luck
