hi, i have just bought a new gripper bar for a ryobi 3200 np, one of the gripper fingers was broken on the old gripper bar,got a new one for a bargain price,so is there anything i have to watch out for, or is it just a matter of taking off the old an puting on the yhe new one?

You might need to adjust the cam follower (arm with little bearing on one end of the bar). This is what rides on the cams at the gripper and delivery end of the press to open the gripper bars. I can't remember if the 3200 bars have the cam followers pinned (in which case you just put it on) or adjustable (where you loosen the set screw on the cam follower arm and set angle like the old bar) before you install. Either way it's pretty much plug and play just be sure to check the cam follower and adjust if needed.

  • BTW just be sure the new bar isn't gummed up from sitting around. Some WD-40, oil and open and close the bar looking at the gripper fingers and that they all open smoothly and at the same time.

Always a good idea to turn the machine over by hand first.
perhaps feed a few sheets by hand, just to check you've put in correctly.
