hi everybody
my friend have bought in amerika a qm di 46-4 pro and have those things. 200v,57.7a,60 hz,16 kw(thisw is the requires of the machine).excist the prbability to work this machine in albania(eu)?? i think that frequency is a big problem?!!
what we can do to eork in albania this tipe of machine??

Your friend could order the right transformer from Heidelberg, but the easier way is to adopt the power supply tension by the supplementary externer transformer 400/200V .

  • I am in the same boat as "Orange Print's" friend.

I am importing from USA a DI PRO with the same voltage specifications.

I was talking to a company that produces 3 phase transformers but they said that a transformer CAN NOT Change Frequency.

In USA the frequency is 60 Hz and in Europe is 50 Hz.

Is this a problem for the DI ?

I am not familiar with transformers so what do you mean by :
"Adopt the power supply tension by the supplementary externer transformer 400/200V "

    Can you explain ?

    Thnx in advance

I am not sure about the DI , but check if you do not have a switch 50/60- Hrz in the electric cabinet
this is the case in most presses

There is no switch in the cabinet. The machines were originally made in the factory specifically for whatever country they were going to.

correct me if im wrong but once you get the right voltage... 50/60 hertz should not be an issue because the tag on the main drive motor is for 50/60 hertz. I installed many euro and asian 50htz presses here in the states never had a problem. and I know many dealers that have sold 60 htz presses to europe without a problem.

You are correct, the initial voltage was set up at the factory, 208v vs 480v etc. You will have to adjust for that accordingly. I meant there was no switch to change the Hz.

What about Jan's idea: "adopt a power supply tension by the supplementary externer transformer 400/200V" ?

Is there a single part (power supply) that is interchangeable between USA / EU versions or there are many parts that differ in these versions ?
