problem with percentages.

My Igen4 has a problem with any dry ink percentages between (guess) 50 and 75%

it makes it look grainy...or mottled. however you want to describe it. But....it is a defined pattern.

THink "taking a picture through a window screen" and thats the look. NO prob when the image gets down to low percentage, or way high.

not always noticeable to average person, but I see it, and I know its a matter of time before a client does. Ive let it go...

oh...i thought it was only black, but it happens to all 4.

any suggestions would be awesome.

Are you able to change the Dither pathern for the Igen4? I had this same issue with my Canon ImagePress. With a Dither that compliments gradation and halftones you will have much smoother mid level gradients.

hmmm I dont see anything in the front end...that kinda what I was hoping for, since it is all the colors.

I wish I knew where the menu was located on the Igen, i'm sure another Xerox printer will hop into this thread shortly.
I'm rather sure it will correct your issue.

What DFE are you running?

IMO there isn't much you can do other than drop the line screen down.
There should be a few sheets of printed paper taped up inside the door. These sheets should represent the best that your iGen can print. If yours isn't printing as well as those sheets then check your FSI's or call for service.
