Oil Leak, Komori Lithrone 26

Hi everyone, have a 1984 komori lithrone 26 with a fairly bad oil leak, mainly around the delivery section and unit 4.
I know its an old press but still, is there certain places where oil leaks are more prevelant? (on any part of the machine) any flash spots that i can check?

Komori presses normaly have holes in the walls to get cables from one side to the other , sealed by clear rubber seals.
Along time , the seals tend to dry and fall our , resulting by oil from the outer side on the frame kreeping in and down to the floor or the collecting canal at the botom on the frame.

THis is one reasonable option. the other would be a seal on one of the bearrings on your press - go under with a flashlight and have a look at the leak origion.

And if none of them..get a good irish engineer to have a look and save the earth from the oil spill

Hello KGM, We have an L428 was using/loosing alot of oil. inside of all the unit side covers operator side and gear side there are some 2 inch/6cm holes
that should have a rubber plug in them, ours were down in the oil bath in the bottom you have to feel around in the oil to find them and just slide them back into the holes. This cut our oil loss by 90% or more.

One other place to look might be the Chain self oilier might be set to high/long or to often, ours is located on gear/drive side close to Spray Powder unit, oil tank with control unit with 2 settings how long it pumps and how often.

Thank you for your thoughts. we bought UV dye and put it in the oil. went around the machine with a UV lamp and managed to find one big oil leak near the pump and a few other smaller ones.
job done, not 100 percent fixed but a huge improvement
