Hi Everyone
I'm running a Ryobi 525GX with coater. I am running SRA3, not B3, due to cost of stock, but this gives me another headache in terms of not being able to fit colour bars on to make full use of the PDSE. Part of the reason is the size of stock itself and part the fact we have to drop the image down slightly due to the coater, if we then include colour bars they tend to hang off the back of the sheet, which then causes my operators a nightmare with marking. For ages now we have been leaving colur bars off but would like to get them back on to make use of the PDSE, which would also mean it would be benificial to have the ink curves re-set which again would help our colour control.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so anyway around it? I've heard of people reducing the size of the colour bar, but this then gives the PDSE a problem reading them.

Here's looking forward to any words of wisdom on offer.

What is the exact size of paper. If it is 45-32 cm you should be able to fit in the colorbare.

  • in corel you can put the color bar wherever you want in print preview, personally ive never had the problem and print almost always on sra3

    Hey Hey

don't take onership on this problem , it is very common at zny paper size - if you want to save on paper , you have no room for the color bar.

I think the PD will read any bar above 2 mil , so make it small low as possible.
I also think that sith the kind of short jopbs you run on a small press and lot's of make ready's , the time you save is way more (moneywise) than the cost of the extra stock size in price , so i would not think twice.

If you get to your ballanced print 10 min faster and keep it stable easier , it beats the 2 pound on the extra paper

    Enjoy
