coated paper scratches

i want to know if anyone had ever printed coated paper on imagepress and had the problem of scratches appearing on printed result.
scratches along paper path and perpendicular to paper path.

help appreciated

I also face this problem , number of times. But, don't have any solution yet. Hope! i found some in this forum.

Replacing of the secondary (or primary if it's very worn) fixing rollers along with the collecting rollers should fix this problem. Sometimes the techs will say its within spec of the machine - which i don't care for much. The prints shouldn't scratch.

I also encounter the same problem as everybody. And I have the same speculation as Michael. I think the problem here is on the machine.

I'm very sure that is the stainless stell roller that goes on top of the fixing roll on both the primary or the secondary. You can take away the cleaning web on any of both units and will see it directly covered with black spots that are dry tonner. It can also be the rubber covered thin guard that you can find on each fixing unit when you open the part you can grab by the green handdle on the fron of the fixing units. Al of this you can look for after you make sure the main fixing rollers are in good condition. You can se if they are marked. Let me know if this helps.

What paper weights are you guys running? over spec weights will cut into the rollers.

If the stainless steel roller is covered in black spots you sure your telling the machine what the correct weight is?

You can refresh the fixing rollers also which should eliminate small scratches.

I know this post is from 2012! But I just got my hands on the ImagePRESS C65 and experiencing similar scratch issues:

1. ImagePRESS C65
2. Paper: SPECTRO / 19 x 13 / 288GSM / 16PT C1S Digital

That may actually be scratches from the finisher. even though the GSM is in spec, I could almost guarantee that the caliper is too thick to squeeze through the bend of the finishing module.
You're probably hearing a horrible clunking sound as the sheet exits the machine.

Unfortunately there's not much in avoiding this.

Is this the only stock you experience the issue with?
