Happened to be looking at the canon site today and I see they have introduced the C1+ as "the first color device with clear toner for the light production and proofing market." Still 14 pages-per-minute for color jobs, but up to 60 ppm for black-and-white (though probably a very expensive way to print bw) and with the added flexibility to do up to 40ppm for clear printing jobs which is interesting given the cost of the nexglosser that only glosses (a larger sheet size though). On the slow side, but definitely interesting to see some new technology filter down to the light production / graphic arts machines from the bigger digital presses at last.

what is the price of unit? got any info on printing costs - click type or buy-consumables?
