  1. DC242 Lots of spilt black toner Yuk!

Getting repeated spill of black toner throughout machine. Usually ends up with a BTR sensor fault, assuming due to dirty patch or sensor. Black toner seems to be spilling either from toner cartridge area itself (new cartridges tried) or the black dev tank area. any ideas of a cause to look...
  2. paper creasing - anyone know why see pic???

Thanks, makes sense, will give it a go and see where the wrinkles start to appear on paper as it passes through
  3. paper creasing - anyone know why see pic???

Yes, I did think fuser temp may be impacting, but unsure.
  4. paper creasing - anyone know why see pic???

Hi thanks for looking at the query. Its a duplex print job, paper from oversized tray6 feeder, no finisher attached. Stumped to say anything other than stock problems, but it is inconsistent and the same stock goes through another machine without the creasing issue... Have also been seeing it...
  5. paper creasing - anyone know why see pic???

Putting various stocks through our D242 and getting inconsistent paper creasing and crunching along the length, through middle of sheet. Rippled creasing. See image attached of an A3 sheet. Seems to happen more on a 80g A3 sheet, but on many other stocks too. Sometimes A3 80g runs fine, so...
  6. Moving Xerox DC242/252/560 to new location - any prep advice?

Thanks. Will certainly dismantle into components and pack well for transport, not long journey. Is there anything more technical that should be done for moving? For instance is it good practice to remove toner cartridges, drums, or any other parts? Is there any locking mechanism on moving parts...
  7. Moving Xerox DC242/252/560 to new location - any prep advice?

Hi all, We are moving premises in near future and just wondered if anyone had good advice about preparing and moving DC242, DC252 & 560? Does well to be prepared and no doubt someone will know how to avoid simple or major problems...? Thanks in advance.
  8. DC242 - Invertor error 077-130

Hi, the paper comes down the inverter section (door) after first side printed and when going back up into the underneath part of duplex section (under fuser), that is where it stops. As if the leading edge has just reached the first two rollers in the underneath duplex path... tried to attach an...
  9. DC242 - Invertor error 077-130

UPDATE***** I have tested the inverter gate section (door) all functioning fine. Tested the sensor on way into underside of invert section, that seems fine too. Can anyone tell me could the 077-130 fault code (think this is just saying where the paper stops) be caused by the 'pinch rollers' (if...
  10. DC242 - Invertor error 077-130

Hi, Have a repeating 077-130 error, whenever duplexing attempted on DC242. No obvious physical issue, had the door and inverter sections out of machine. Machine runs normally for single sided prints. Don't know much at all about 'other causes' of 077-130 fault - am I looking at needing to...
  11. DC242 Advanced Finisher Fault 012-335

Thanks for ideas, all make more than a lot of sense. Finally tracked fault right back to the inverter gate - without finisher attached it became fault 077-129. Taking the door apart allowed me to find the little lug on end of inverter gate was broken, so solenoid not physically working gate. All...
  12. HELP...Can't duplex on a Xerox 242

You diagnosis is spot on, just replaced the inverter gate, it had a little broken plastic knob, which meant it was not engaged with solenoid arm any longer. Replaced the gate and all good now. Thanks for everyone's assistance.
  13. dc242 077-129 fault code - duplexing jobs

Hi just updating as fixed it. Fault not sensor, it was the diverter gate not operating correctly for second side print in duplex. Have had the door apart and replaced the diverter gate assy. WORKING! The old gate had a tiny little plastic nodule on one end that operated by the the switch and...
  14. HELP...Can't duplex on a Xerox 242

Thank you, I will give it a try - if I can get hold of part. Thanks for the information.
  15. HELP...Can't duplex on a Xerox 242

Ah you spotted the important but incorrect typo! doh! Sorry about confusion Yes it is suppose to be 077-129 - have cleaned wiped and air sprayed every sensor I know of - is it a specific one or amalgamation of several tracking the path of paper?? Thanks.
  16. HELP...Can't duplex on a Xerox 242

Query about your response to this old issue - you asked if stopping with 'paper in door slot' - got just that problem, did you know of a cause? Duplex jobs only, printing side one, but stopping with 077-291 fault code with paper out of door slot, so obviously not going correctly down side door...
  17. dc242 077-129 fault code - duplexing jobs

Thanks for info - I have checked physical paper and changed it also, still results in same 077-129 code. even duplex copying on standard A4 sheet, results in same - side one printed, then sheet sent out of output slot, to stop with last 2cm in rollers - 077-129. It seems to me this is not the...
  18. dc242 077-129 fault code - duplexing jobs

Previous faults with finisher, seem to be resulting in this 077-129 fault whenever any duplexing is attempted. Any one know a cause/solution? A consistent 077-129 fault code - No apparent jams or blockages in paper path. correct and different papers tested... cleaned through... turned off and...
  19. DC242 Advanced Finisher Fault 012-335

Got a DC242 with an Advanced Finisher unit fitted, which has had the Finsher NVMs 'initialized' in the system settings. Now getting fault code 012-335 - basically the finisher does not seem to be recognised at all. What do I need to do to rectify - can the finisher be reset or reinstalled? Bit...
