3302M problems

I haven't had a chance to dig to far into it yet, but figured I'd reach out and ask here first. On my 3302M when I engage the rollers I get a good image transfer from plate to blanket.

But as soon as I engage to get impression from blanket to paper I lose transfer from plate to blanket. Any of you guys ran across this?

That sounds like a mechanical problem I haven't experienced but please clarify or correct:

I would read this as "when I engage the plate cylinder to blanket cylinder..."
Is that what was meant? A good image on the blanket?
And that when you feed paper you lose image transfer?
Two basics - the rollers are down and not in night latch?, You have the white light button enabled to print on that unit?

Verify the above and that when you begin feeding the ink is carried away in 5 to 15 sheets.
Is the plate still inked?
Is the blanket?

Yes you are correct it has a good transfer then when I feed paper I lose image in under 10 sheets. If I leave the machine engaged on final position and just stop my paper feed I still get no transfer from plate cylinder to blanket cylinder. But if I stop paper feed and turn machine back one notch I get transfer from plate to blanket.

The plate stays inked up throughout the process. And all night latches are disengaged and print light is on

You can print in 3rd position, plate to blanket forced.
In 4th, final run position, you have impression but lose plate to blanket(?).
One unit or both?
This is possibly a new machine to you having read your dampening question post in previous threads but you seem to have a correct understanding of it's operation. Has a "knowledgeable/experienced" operator verified this anomaly?
You should clean the two optical sensors at this point but they control the impression cylinder operation; not plate to blanket. First is below/behind the first transfer cage mounted to a 3/4" bar. Second is visible when opening the safety gate to install first unit clean up tray.
Again, it sounds electrical mechanical. You can print in third position?

I haven't tried printing in the 3rd position. I got rid of the unit that I was discussing the dampening unit on, and put this unit back in. It was already down when I came in as maintenance and was told that we was getting a new machine (the one that had the homemade water dampening system) and not to mess with this unit.

I talked to some of the operators and they said that this unit was printing just fine until a new operator decided to remove all the rollers and covers and etc. and then quit and the old maintenance man wasn't able to get it all back together and said parts were missing. I got it all back together found all the rollers parts etc. and tried the first unit, and ran into this issue.

Since then I haven't been able to try out the unit on the machine due to installing a new collator and working on other presses (diddie, harris) that have been acting up hopefully I'll get back to it next week and try out the second unit and try printing in the 3rd position.

I appreciate the insight and help ill keep you posted on how it goes.

One damping system on a two color machine? You've got your hands full.
All rollers removed? Normal periodic maintenance.

Ink press with no water engage to blanket if you can stripe blanket to impression cylinder you can see if you have any pressure I think you can use wrench to throw impression on.

Try to clean the sensors under blanket cylinder first, either you got a dirty sensor or you need to adjust sensitivity according to service manual

If you remove bottom cover you will see a long flat rod this should have 4 inch spring the rod pulls the impression solenoids on /off check that spring has tension.
