Hiedelberg kord impression stays on

Hey, anybody out there an expert on hiedelberg kord series. When I push down the lever to interrupt the paper feed, the impression is supposed to kick off but it doesn't. Just started running this press after a few years away from the industry and am a little rusty. The operator before me said this happened out of the blue and she has been working with this problem for a while now. Any info to help me troubleshoot this problem would be helpful and much appreciated.

It's going to be very hard for me to try and help you solve this, so bear with me, it was a very long time ago before I ran one of these so I'm thinking back from memory?
Have you tried opening the door where the Stop, Run, Feed, Impression lever is, so as you can see what's happening or what's NOT happening? When you use the interrupt feed lever to stop the press, you should see a moving lever lift up and kick another lever off impression, if it's not doing that, it may need adjusting or something has broken and fallen off?

Also, does it E-stop at all?

Hey notagooner, thanx for the quick response. Because this problem happened so abruptly my first thought was that something fell or broke off too. I have looked at the mechanism in that door and as far as I can see the interupt lever does not activate anything on the working side of the press. It does however trip off your suction and a pushrod (for lack of a better word) on the non working side. I looked around on both sides of the press expecting to find a loose spring or something but found nothing. I will ask the operator if the happened upon an unexplained part laying around the press after this happened. I will further investigate that the interupt lever is indeed supposed to activate something on the working side. I will keep you posted, all the help I can get on this is much appreciated. Also I'm not sure what you mean by E-stop.

E-stop is emergency stop, does it stop when you lift a guard up?

On your feeder board, on the Infeed Gripper bar, there are two small plates that can be swayed down. These are right inline with your Feeder
board grippers. They should be in a horizontal position.

On the feedboard..... is 2 take down fingers that transfer paper from suction release... to the head stops... If those takedown fingers are plugged up they cannot release air to "know" if a sheet is there or not. Alot of the times these get overlooked and do get plugged up or the hoses become brittle and loose blast and subsequently stay on impression.

The hand trip lever: This is cable operated. This cable could have come loose or broken.

As stated above also by Hters, there is two plates or "sensors" that have something stating " feed trip" or "feed sensors". They are either up or down ( on or off) and have small riveted printed plates on them, probably about 1/4 tall by maybe 2 inches long, they are on the headstop bar. These were designed years ago for printing "half sheets"

Hello..on the swing gripper are 2 paper detectors.these can be switched on or off.when paper is present the press keeps running(on impression) but when a sheet misses these activate the quick stop mechanism and trip the press off mechanically..cheers pdprintuk..
