I've just bought a used xerox dc12 with fiery xp 12 rip. I'm currently ocurring a dificulties with configuration of my dc 12. Just downloaded new drivers xp12_v2. The display on the machine says that the drums and tones are OK but I can't see the status in the percentage (another difficulty is that the display language is italian and there is a posssibility to change it on franch - i don't find it comfortable to use any of those languages. While using my xerox 252 i know that it is possible to see the status of a machine via command workstation but i don't know which version is compatible with my fiery xp 12 rip. I guess many of you have worked with dc 12 or simmilar machine, so please if anyone can help me. If anyone knows which version of command workstation is compatible with my xp 12 or how to change or install english language on machine i coud really use your help.

We use Command Workstation 4 with our DC12 and fiery ex12 rip. Not sure if that is any help???

  • Thank you, you've been helpfull, I guess version 4 will be compatible with xp 12. Right now I'm having troubles finding this version. Are you sure it is 4 or something like 4.x.x?

sorry for the delay - been very busy.

It's actually 4.5.1.7 that we are running

If you haven't found a compatible version of Command workstation I'd be happy to upload it to you. I also have windows vista compatible drivers which I proved tricky to find.

  • Download the drivers from: http://www.sparksincolour.co.uk/Vista-X12.zip

Then extract ZIP file and install using the following method:

1.) Click on your start menu,
    2.) Go to Control Panel
    3.) Go To printers
    4.) Click "Add a printer"
5.) Click Add a local printer
6.) Select create a new port "local port"
    7.) Type \\<Server Name>\print click next
    8.) Click Have Disk...
9.) Browse for driver in the files extracted from vista-X12.zip "PS\oemsetup.inf"
10.) Click Ok to close the dialog
11.) Fiery X12 Color Server SP2 should be selected click next
12.) IF REQUESTED SELECT "replace the current driver" and click next
13.) Type a printer name and click next
    14.) Click finish.

Let me know if this works, I know I had great difficulty finding a driver which I could get to work!
