ive got a job to print but wanted to check first i am running pantone silver onto a pale yellow card, will it turn grey or if i lay it on heavy enough will it stay silver? had silver turn dirty looking before on certain colours
Hi, the silver and gold inks are really really opague so unless you print on really really dark paper which you don't, there is nothing to worry about, you may put it down a little heavier but as long as you don't print screens of it.
Thanks Data. I barely print metallic colors. The reason why I asked is because you expressed your reply in such manner that I thought that silver paste is something commonly stocked at printing shops ( I am kind of rookie in the buz ). Thank you explanation.
Data good info thanks. Do they have the same thing for golds too?
As many out of the can silvers are just dull and bland I'll try that UV ink too. Years ago in the 80's Rexart ink company used to make a Brilliant Silver which was the nicest I ever used. Long gone by EPA standards today sadly.
