E 17 error, moving guide manually on L-640

We've been having problems with the operator guide on heavier cover stocks, so during some down time I decided to scope it out. While the press was set up for 19x25, I found the guide bearing had hitches in it, so after spending a few minutes pulling the guide apart, I decided to move the guide out at the console to 900 mm to make the guide easier to reach. while waiting for the guide to move, the console flashed "E 17". The guide had moved as far as it could go to the operator side and is now froze in that spot.

I would estimate the press to be late 90's-early 2000's. I can't figure out or find in the manual how to move either guide manually. I've tried turning the motor off at the console and at the feeder. Has anyone ever run into this?

1) How can I move the guide manually?

2) How do I clear out the error?

3) Will I have to re-calibrate the guide to the console?

Thanks in advance. FWIW, I have 35+ years in the industry with about 20+ of those years on Komoris of many stripes, so I hope to pay it forward by helping others out here with problems they may have that I have dealt with before. I've just NEVER seen this one before.

"0 14" is the other code that is flashing. I did find it in the manual, but the solution was kind of vague.

Proceed with this step:
Cancel the error indication by pressing the "STOP" key on the sheet keys.
Check that the detector lamp lights when the Side Lay is at the home position. If the lamp does not light, the detector may have malfunctioned.
Shift the Side Lay again and check its movement. If the axis does not operate, the device may have malfunctioned, or if movement is unstable, a mechanical problem may have
occurred.

May be you have to check first at all stepper motor and driver , you can change driver impulse side for driver operator side , this drivers are located in main control

E17 is overrun error.The home position sensor should stop the side lay preventing this to happen.

deacivating the side lay from the console you are able to move it by hand with a knob fitting on that hole near that small gear

I had the guide apart and up when I moved it. Is it possible that prevented the sensor from seeing it?

Thanks for your responses. Turns out, I notified the other press operator of what had happened, powered down the press for the weekend, and when he powered it up on Monday, the fine adjust let him move it enough to free it up. I tried that several times last Friday to no avail, but hey, it's freed up and working now. Go figure. Only downside is it's now 4mm off of -0-.

Also might be clogged thread...check ,clean,grease.Fine adjustment is possible changing sensor position but not recommended
