DFE Failed to Deliver Any Images

We've been getting this almost every day lately. After the file RIPs, this error will come and the file will not get printed.

If you reboot the DFE (FreeFlow), and try to run the same file again, it works no problem.

A reboot generally fixes this problem, but I'd rather avoid it if possible. Does anybody know a fix to this? Or a reason this could be happening. Thanks.

Just a couple of things you can look at

Go to the Press Interface and check the fault display in the Call for Assistance window. Locate the XPE-06-3800 and/or XPE-06-3820 code in the list. If a Print Engine paper handling fault is logged immediately before (within one second) of the image transmission fault, the fault is due to a paper handling problem in the Print Engine. Refer to the appropriate RAPs in the iGen3, iGen4 EDOC.

Check the disks for sufficient free space. From a terminal window, login as root and type df –k to check disk space. Check the capacity column for a number larger than 80%. Ensure each drive has no more than 80% used space. Delete or move files until each disk has less than 80% used space.

Run a job from dc106 Print Engine. These test patterns are on the engine itself and eliminates the DFE. Does the error occour or any other jams etc?

Okay I freed up some space, we were at 89% capacity. Haven't had the fault since! I'll report back if I see it again. Thanks for the help Mark!

digging up defunct thread here.... same error: 6-3820 search brought it up. IGEN has been running fabulously all week and weekend on this black and white job, now its terrible.... just curious. What is this error stating? it says "image transmission fault" transmission to where? Looks like mine is paper handling anyways ....

Image transmission faults are flagged up when the iGen loses data from the DFE. These can be caused by numerous reason and sometimes are a ******* to track down. In your case they can be caused by paper handling jams. Look in the fault list for any paper jams immediately before the ITF.
