Canon 7000VP screened image

I am having problems with my machine printing what should be a solid, screened.
For Example: If a newsletter has any colored text, it comes out screened. I am thinking it is the Fiery Rip. It looks solid in the image viewer. However, when it prints, it is screened. I am fairly new to this piece of equipment. It would be appreciated if someone could help.

What type of file is it? If it is a .PDF, you could try printing as an image. That will show if the layers have been flattened properly...
