The alarm has been going off intermitently for 2 days on the 226L , I added oil ( assuming it was a lubrication alarm) but that hasnt stopped it , its not the stacking counter so what else would set the alarm to keep going off ? the sheet register and side guide are right on the money too...any ideas.?

Steve

could be that the oil is too thick and is not circulationg right so its setting the alarm off, or you may have a huge oil leak and your pouring oil in one end and its poring out the other.

the alarm could be the oil pressure you may have 3 oil filters on that press 2 are with the oil pump and have pressure gauges with with color coding showing when filters need changing and if you have the third it is for the bearings and also has the color coding.Check your oil pump filters you may have an oil flow problem.

Thanks , Ill check that , the sight glass shows the oil level as being correct.....

A way to check if it is the oil alarm would be to disconnect the plug to the pressure gage but do not be tempted to leave it disconnected it will eventually cause great damage to the press,do you have the third filter ? if left unattended the press will eventually shut itself off during printing. Are the filters in the gearside delivery cabinet? Some filters are paper and metal and can be cleaned and some are like your car oil filter (threaded) and colored red and blue these have to be replaced the third filter is a paper filter and should be replaced it is dedicated to the main bearings.

Sometimes the feeder static eliminator will start arcing and cause the Eyekom to set off the side guide horn.
Try turning off the static eliminator. If that does it, replace and rerout the wire for the static eliminator away from the wires going to the Eyekom.

  • I changed the oil filter and it went off... thanks

Yeah but right now its the only game in town , aint many print jobs around....
