Air leaks in the solenoids under each unit

We are experiencing leaks in each of the units on our Heidelberg 1992 SM102. They seem to be coming from the solenoids part number 61.184.1051. Not sure what to do... Any help is appreciated.

Typically, the cause of this “blow-by” is worn seals in the pneumatic rams. For example, the rams which throw the Alcolor train on/off, or the ram that controls on/off of the ductor…any of these with worn seals will cause this. Use a pliers to pinch off air line going to the pneumatic component, and you will likely stop the air flow “blow-by”.

You should also be sure that your air pressure regulator is set to no higher than 7 bar (98psi). Higher pressures will cause premature failure of pneumatics.

Be sure of the origine of the issue is it the solenoid valve or the exhaust, is it general or in some solenoid valve, if you have a photo of the pneumatic distribution blocks that will be better and a video of problem that will be a plus

Thanks Junker 1984.. We checked the regulator and it seems to be working. Still getting the blow-by. Not sure if the valves are just worn or what.. We swapped out a couple and still had the same leaking out of the back.

Adil, I've attached a pic of the valve bank. The leak is only on certain valves. Not all of them.

OK, Oregon…depress, one at a time, the red button. This should pinpoint which of the directional control valves is culprit. Keep in mind, given the circumstance, it’s likely not the directional valve that’s faulty, it would be the pneumatic ram(s) it controls, ie…the Alcolor ram(s), the ductor on/off ram, blanket washer ram(s), etc…

Junker, I depressed the red button on the ones that are leaking and got the same leak out of the exhaust. A little bit weaker air but still leaking.

Since you noticed a change, it’s likely that the problem lies in one of the assemblies that utilizes two rams to accomplish action. That would be the Alcolor or blanket wash systems, which use a ram on each side of press. Did you pinch off the line to/from the directional control valve with a (softened …as in rag lined) pliers?

You do understand the air lines to the dual operated rams are split off on their way to the rams. If, for instance, the Alcolor rams (one or the other) is causing the blowby, pinching the line first at one, then the other, will indicate which one requires replacing. I’m going on the assumption that the leak is caused by the rams, not the directional control valve.

when you have activated the solenoid valves manually do the cylinders react in the printing unit???
if the leak is at the level of the exhaust, it means that either there is a blockage at the level of the corresponding cylinder or there is a problem in the internal drawer of the distributor and that it must be replaced.
also check if you have water in the compressed air lines in this case you must replace the distributors and install a compressed air dryer
