  1. CP Bourg Booklet Maker

30 bin Collator, 3 head stitcher, folder & face trimmer. Works awesome, we lost the one account we really used this and purchased the machine for. We are really fairly small operation and can run everything we usually do on our 10 bin collator and stitcher unit.

  4. Changing the Hydro. oil for a Polar 66

I was wondering if anybody has changed the hydro. oil for there polar 66 cutter. The tech. said it was fairly easy to do if we wanted to do it ourselves and breifly described how to do it. This was over a year ago and i don't really remember all the steps.
  5. polar 78

We had a very similar issue with our polar cutter... but there were also other random flaws. The problem became worse and worse over time. We finally got a technician to come in and he eliminated all the possible problems narrowing it down to something in the mother board. The tech. did not work...
  6. Newbie looking for startup advice.

I have printed several 4 color jobs on a single color Davidson 501 & Multi 1250 years and years ago. You are right as far as being a little time consuming. This takes some time, practice and getting used to the machine to be able to fine tune machine and registration. But you can do it if you...

  8. Newbie looking for startup advice.

If this is going to be a hobbie and interest of yours to start out i would find and older single color press (they are a dime a dozen) to spend the money you are looking at it sounds like you can test the waters for awhile. I hate giving advice but take your time there is a hell of alot to learn...

With you Kodak system, what do you mean your pre-press dept guys were mixing it wrong? Were they the ratio wrong?

  15. Plate Image is Fading after xxx-impressions

That really sounds like a lot, ours suggests between 2-4oz per gallon. What kind of dampening system are you running?
  16. Need your professional opinion all.

If the finished product is just one color and you run 10,000 why would you want to run it digitally? How often do you run this? Is this the only item you run? Are you a print shop? I guess i am a little confused with what you are looking at doing.
  17. Plate Image is Fading after xxx-impressions

The tech had made some more minor adjustments which seems to help. The biggest improvement of all was switching from a tack-12 to a tack-14. I get double run lengths on the plates but it still is not where it should be. I need to really examine my fountain solution and make adjustments. If...
  18. envelopes on ryobi 3200

we run an Astro envelope feeder. If this is your press of choice in the shop for running envelopes then i would look long and hard for a feeder. You can run non stop (no cranking up and down). Our pressman can have it set up within a few minutes. Like anything it sure makes the pressmans life...

I have a tech here right now going back through the press. We are running a 20k job that is 2/6. I ran into the same problem especially on the one unit specifically. I am running powder at a bare min. but still lost the image after 7500. So far he has found that the pressure in that specific...
  20. New to printing

As i am sure you already know by now. You are really not selling printing you are selling yourself. If you are trying to get all fancy with the terminalogy and different processes then you are just going to sound even dumber. Most people don't care or are impressed by printing technicalities...
