Hello, I have this problem with my dc250, I attach a picture...
Guys I need your help...
I have two dc250. (one works fine and the other one have this problem) and I changed some parts to see where is the problem. I changed the developer housing complete with drums and scorotron, the transfer belt unit, 2nd BTR roll, the erase lamp (on black drum) and the fuser.. and the problem persist...

any ideas???

thanks in advance

FYI problem solved, clean the ROS (black/cyan) and works fine...
:)

  • Thank you very much for posting the follow up Rom.

I did not realize that a contaminated ROS would cause this; I've seen it cause light subtraction streaks in halftones (where the toner on the mirrors causes it to be lighter where the toner has contaminated the mirrors or clear windows.) Thank you for posting the follow up in case this happens to me :)

    Another question about that stripe

For a newbie - I have a magenta stripe similar to the previous poster and I'm not sure what the ROS window looks like.

Any chance for a picture, so I can give it the good cleaning I know it needs?

    Thanks

I don't have a photo, but with the machine unplugged start by taking out the drums. Put them in their foil bags in a dark box. Then pull out the drum drawer all the way. Then pull out the transfer belt drawer and very carefully lift out the transfer belt assembly being very careful not to ding it on anything or you will cause yourself a big headache. Now if you look up or use a mirror you will see four small glass slits running 15" from front to back of the machine one for each laster. A dense rounded foam tip swap is the best way to clean these. Whatever you use be careful it won't get torn by the sharp edges and leave any dust or fibres in there making it worse then when you started. Now if that doesn't do it, you will have to disassemble the machine from the top, remove one of the two ros assemblies (one black box contains K and C and one M and Y) and clean the inside of the windows or the mirrors. That takes a few hours to take the machine apart step by step.
