We have a machine Heidelberg SM52 4 + L of the year 2000. during the production the machine stops and grinds an error message: insufficiency of compressed air. But we find that the pressure gauge indicates that the pressure is good. We changed the air pressure sensor, we still have the same situation.
Could you help me to solve this problem. because there are several stops of 10 or 15 minutes before the message disappears itself.

Hi sir
Hope you are well.
Try to bleeding the system first, if the problem does NOT resolve, look for
Leaking system, use soap for to detect the leaking. is very useful and secure.
Tight all terminal very well, and see if the fiting are damaged.
Look for any valve is leaking and defective, uses some O-ring and fitting would be worn and replace it.
Of course look for the compressor ,if the hoses are o.k and terminals. Tight and replaces if necessary.
If you change the sensor, look if the voltage is properly in the sensor or is faulty too. Repair.

  • Hello sir

    We followed all the directions.
We have eliminated air leaks at distributors. We checked the connections of the pressure sensor control circuit by correctly displaying the plugs.
We now find that the compressor stops when the maximum pressure is reached.
Tomorrow Monday we will make the impressions and I hope that the machine will work well.
    We thank you
And you will keep abreast of the evolution.
    Thank you very much

    Hi
I appreciate a Lot of his words.
Strong recommend you, to make maintenance the compressor Motor.
Normally any electrical motor, will be take in maintenance every 12 months: cleaning, Lube, ball bearing, inspection, etc.
The lack of maintenance, provide many inconvenience with the Time.
In my over 46 years of Senior BSEE +P.E experienced in Troubleshooting, installation, Advice, maintenance, etc As electrical +electronic engineer, 95% OF the customers they Do not take
in consideration the recommendations by the factories in doing, the maintenance works for many devices.

And do drain your compressor regularly.
Else it will be just water and no air.

Yes is a Good point ; to drain air, and Water to due the condensation in the same

    So far everything works after the intervention made on the basis of guidance;
    Thank you a lot.

If you currently have house air then I would suggest you plumb in some copper lines to supply "house air" to the small press side compressor. It would be STRONGLY advised that this "house air" is plumbed through an air drying system. Failure to use dry air will result in a premature failure of the poly lines and fittings if it hasn't already occurred.

I posted pictures in my previous answers to help but they do not appear now.

    What is the reason ??

  • Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks very much for taking your time to help others. It appeared the schematic could violate Heidelberg's copyright or was from a Heidelberg service document, so it was removed due to copyright concern.
