Shinohara 66IIP help

We are running a Shinohara 66IIP and seem to have a problem that we have never encountered.

We have a sheet of card stuck between the blanket and the plate on the #1 head, its on full impression, we cannot turn the machine by hand, it wont jog in either direction and we cannot remove the card.



Anyone have a possible solution?

Sorry about your problem
1) Take out all the rollers, from all Units.
2) Soak the card with plenty of solvent

Does the mashine not jog cuz of the stuck cylinders, or cuz there is a tripped finger protection bar? (check the POD, the touchscreen)
Are u trying to turn the mashine by hand, with the power on or off? Power should be OFF
Lubricate the oil nipples of the blanket cylinder throw-on machanismus with plenty of oil.

We have taken out all the rollers on both heads as suggested, the machine is off and we still cannot move the machine. The rollers are still covered in ink, and has dried.

There is nothing on the pod, we cannot jog it in forward or reverse.

It is 1 sheet of 350gsm card that looks as it has folded over and it is not visiable on the opposite side.

We have soaked it with solvent, as it is coated stock the solvent just ran off. So we are now looking at wash, oil, or possibly diesel.

What we are thinking about doing is to oil the plate and blanket, good chance they are both no good in any case, releasing the plate and trying to pull it out.

Definately going to look at other avenues before we do this.

The way it is now, as the machine is trying to jog and not moving the belt has slipped once with no movement... we will need to have the timing adjusted.

Our engineer is coming, but is busy for several days on another job... so have to wait for a while.

Ok ... taking the plate out of the clamps, oiling up the plate/blanket did absolutely nothing.

However, we all sat down for a while and 2 of us grabbed the bar in the manual shifting, and then had another guy pressing the reverse jog button. It took some doing, but eventually the bar moved and the sheet of card fell down.

The press is as good as new

Hope this helps other press operators.

Is the drive belt oiled? If yes, dry it very well. Put some offset powder to increase the grip. Try to tension it a LITTLE bit more. Try to jog the mashine backwards, and simultaneusly, help the main motor with the crawbar by turning the mashine by hand, BE VERY CAREFULL NOT TO SLIP. Sadly, you didnt avoid the dry ink on the rollers. You have to clean them by hand.
