Hi,

We're having serious problems with offsetplates developing on the press. For some unknown reason on none of the 5 towers the first edge of the plate develops properly (whereas the rest of the plate goes well). Results in ink building up within cropmarks and thereby waisting the product. Only after washing the edge manually the prints are OK. It looks as though there is no contact made on that spot which results in a poor development, making it a hardware problem? But, since it's on all 5 towers, and ManRoland has spent many hours in not-solving the problem, someone should have noticed it.
Does this sound familiar to anyone, or are there members who have (had) similar problems?

What plates are you using? Kodak???
Does ICP film run to grip edge correctly/according to book?
Has adjustment been made to pre-wetting settings etc?

  • Sounds like too much packing under the blankets to me. Resulting in too much impression pressure between the plate cylinder and the blanket cylinder.

Machine is not on impression when plates are being developed out, only inkers and damping are in operation
