Roland 202 E Registration Problem on every other sheet

Hello,

I have a registration problem on my Roland 202 E 2003.

When I print (for example) 100 sheets after fixing the two colors together, it shows that there is a deviation of printing for every other sheet. The first sheet pass is not the same as the second sheet.

For example: the Odd sheet number (1,3,5,7,9, etc) does not have the same calibration as the sheets number (2,4,6,8, etc). But the registration of both units (2 colors) are perfect.

I checked the first cylinder grippers and they seem okay.

Please advise. I have added some pictures for reference.

  • I have checked the side lays and the front lays. The problem is not random. its consistent for every other sheet.

Infeed drum? Infeed roller and curve? You dont have problem with units, i will start with infeed... If you dont have doubling on sheets then grippers are OK. As i can see every second sheet is "moved" but print is ok, so registers are good. Paper is not comming on first unit in same position on grippers....

You are correct, the paper is not coming on the first unit the same position. But the sheet is moved the same exact distance from sheet to sheet.

What do you mean by the infeed curve?

If that press has a double-sided common impression cylinder, then any problem with it would usually be on every other sheet. If so, the grippers on that cylinder probably need to have some kind of maintenance or repair done on them. This is very similar to a press with bad grippers that doubles from transferring the sheet to the next impression cylinder(s) in line. The difference is that since your press only has one impression cylinder, instead of doubling the image, it shows up as a mis-register on the sheet.

I will check the cam, and cam roller and re-adjust the 2 grippers on the transfer cylinder of the first cylinder and get back to you.

    Thank you

Badly (different) tuned gripper on the 1st print unit.
Check the height of the bearing. Pos 6

Infeed is one for one. The same for all sheets. Only a cylinder is one for two.

Thank you for the advice. I have looked at the bearing at Pos 6 in the diagram you attached. It seems worned out on my machine.

I will fix the problem and get back to you.

    Thank you.

Pos. 6 is not a bearing. It is an adjustable stoper.

Pos. 6 is not a bearing. It is an adjustable stoper.

The adjustable stopper is an eccentric bolt.

Does it affect if I adjust one of the adjustable stoppers to a position different than its original position on the impression cylinder?
OR does it have to be at a specific rotation/position?

    Mr. drukman,

I have resolved the issue, it was indeed the adjustable stopper.
I adjusted one of them to a certain angle and then I saw the result. I kept adjusting until I received the correct settings for the stopper.

I have attached some pictures I took throughout the process.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
    Take care!

I adjust the two bolts so that when bearing is 5-7mm from the beginning of the curve (A, as drawing ) it is 0.1mm of it.
Before that it is necessary to lift all grippers
