looking to purchase some laser diodes for qmdi classic. h-berg is up to thier
usual scamming again double the price through those ripoff artist.

broken laser head glass

We have a DI machine with 70 mil sheets produced till today.
We have a problem with first tower with the laser diodes.
The 13 of them was not burning and we found that the glass at the left
side of the laser unit was broken in front of the 3 first diodes.
After the contact we have with Heidelberg (they offer us a new laser unit in the price of a new machine) we are looking to find if there is in the market something
Have anyone any suggestions??

The glass can be replaced and a repair done. The glass has a Heidelberg part number.
The laser carrige is removed from the press and the glass is replaced with a special glue which is cured with uv light.
The carrige is then put back in the machine, the lasers set up and you are off and running again. I know of an engineer in London who has done this.
