Pump for feed head suckers shuts off

I have a QMDI-46 Pro. Normally when running the press, during a jam-up or if the machine pulls a double, the suckers will still have a grip on the next sheet that it is about to pull, so I can just clear the misfed sheet, turn the press back on to impression and away we go. However, now what happens is when the press jams or pulls a simple double, the feed suckers will drop the next sheet which means I have to clear the stream, reset the paper and then get the press back on impression. It does not do this if I am sending blank stock through the press for setup when it's not on impression. When it's not on impression and it has a jam, the pump stays on and the suckers continue to hold the next sheet, but when it's on impression the pump turns off and drops the next sheet. This is recent and never used to do this so if anyone has advice, please let me know. While this doesn't affect the operation or the mechanics of the press, it is a time waster if I have to clear a lot of doubles or jams.

Hi sir
Hope you are well
The sensor for Pile raising at Feeder, can be Wrong adjustment
or defective.
Need to reajustment or Replace if is defective, use the Schematic Diagram
tight Connector relationes to Sensor and cleaned, Test wires loose, or Broker Use the
Tester DMM, like Fluke or Similar.
However is the displaY Panel press Key S 56, for to identify
the exactly problem.
Back to me, any question or doubt

  • Hello!

Thanks for the reply. You mentioned pressing Key S 56...is that a special function? This is for the pro which doesn't have the special functions. I just want to clarify that this isn't for the classic

    Hi, sir
Sorry i did a mistake with the Key S56 , is Special F. Not for your machine PRO .
However Need to test the SLM, power module for +28Vdc,11M3 FOR Feeder Motor+11M2 Delivery Motor
use the DMM and Schematic from his machine.
Test the connector for loose, broker, dirty, oxide, or broken pins, or grease or oil,Cleaned

    Hello, Chock

Could this issue be anything within the pneumatics at all? There's the black pump under the catwalk (forget the name of it) that controls the airflow to the suckers and the feed head and it only shuts off when the press crashes while on impression. I've checked for air leaks and possible loss of pressure, but everything seems to be good. I suppose there could be a short possibly? It doesn't make sense to me why this only occurs during a crash on impression and not during a crash while sending through stock not on impression.

  • Dear Sir:
By that reason i did instruct you
to test the Module , did you do¿
do you have the schematic diagrams¿
can you handle the DMM very well, or are doing some electrician
or you know something about troubleshooting in electrical and electronic circuit¿

    Hello,

I will pull the schematics and see what I can find. I am not an expert with electronics or troubleshooting anything to complicated with electronics. I will see what i can do though.
