So here's an interesting puzzle I've been dancing with for a few weeks.
Any time I have to print something with heavy cyan coverage on coated (particularly gloss coated) stocks, the second print side has a habit of acting more like a scratch-off ticket. I do even a light scrape test and the toner just flakes right off.
The first print side sticks fine. I can claw at that like a rabid badger and the color sticks.
-First thought was it may be a stock issue (crappy coating), but it's only the second side that exhibits this behavior.
-Also, just finished running 3k sheets with a mostly grey design and both sides have perfect toner adhesion. On that same stock, a cyan heavy print scrapes right off.
-Contact arc is in spec (actually a little tighter than spec as an experiment) and that doesn't do anything.
-Pressure roll has been cleaned to a point where a British matron would be impressed. So I think I can rule out contaminants from that.
Very confused. Any ideas out there?
