Was looking to add Letterpress to my printshop but don't know the first thing about them! :o Am I correct in thinking the Platen unit can be adapted to do either foil, scoring or letterpress? What's involved in the conversion between different functions?

You are correct, I can only speak for Heidelberg 10x15 platen which can definitely do letterpress printing, scoring, perforating and numbering as for foil blocking, there's an add on equipment feature for that, I'm sure a Heidelberg rep can help you with that?

Good luck.

The 10 x 15 platen is a wounderful old gold mine, keep it oiled and they go and go and keep on going. In one of the shops I work in it is used for channel scoring, and die cutting lots. At tax time it does mirco pref for a week. Any questions pm me and I will be gald to help out.
