Any suggestions/ideas for ways to create pattern coating plates for our 640? We currently CADcut ones from coating blankets, but are forced to purchase Cyrel (flexo) for more intricate work. I know with Wide Web Flexo, the plates are often mounted on a reuseable "carrier" sheet... any direction would be welcomed! (btw... take it easy on my press ignorance... I have been in PrePress for the last 31 years, lol...)
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Meny,
    First, Thanks!
we have done the "strike-though" varnish/coating route, and it does have success, but.... a large client is wanting an intricate "soft-touch" combined with at least a gloss varnish/coat... If there were a strike through option that worked with soft-touch coating, that would be an ideal solution. We are looking at a client tha may have 300-500 SKUs, and Flexo Coating plates are just cost prohibitive -
    Thanks again,
    Richard

    Richard.
No need for Flexo plate for drip off.
A regular plate before the coater and a blkaket on the coater
The special chemistry will do the job and you can get very good effect / contrast
This is the cheapest way on
