Oscillating roller temperatures?

Seems like there are different opinions of oscillating roller temperatures. We have a LS40 perfecter with the water chilled vibrators. We normally run at 70 degrees farenheit, On runs of say, 15,000 impressions, we will notice a little bit of toning on the back half of the sheet. I have heard from some Komori mechanics that you can fix this by lowering the vibrating temp.a couple of degrees. Anyone heard of this or can this be a sensitivity issue with rollers (form) on the plate

Not a Komori but i run our water cooled rollers at 61.7f (@rollers) 49.1f (@ chiller) although i'm also running 9% alcohol in the fount

  • the toning is happening because your form rollers are oscillating and scrubbing the plate, you can prove this by changing the oscillation timing a few degrees and it will move back or forward, stop the rollers from oscillating and the toning is gone
    good luck,

Is that a new feature on presses?

With all the machines ive run, you'd have a serious problem if that happened

Those rollers need to be set a little lighter pressure than the regular rollers also make sure the roller cups are not allowing the rollers to oscillate they should fit the bearing and not have any endplay your chiller temp sounds ok but use a heat gun and check what you have on the individual oscillators, 70 is the temp the chiller unit is set to.
