We are looking for a folder to fold 11x17 cardstock in half. We have little to no use for any other fold at this point.

The Dynafold de-42FC sounds appealing at the price (as does Martin Yale 1217a), but it is really hard to find information on these units, especially pertaining to whether or not they are robust enough for coated cardstock.

We are open to finding a good used folder, but dont know really what to look for and what to avoid. We are in an office environment, so space is of some concern, as is noise. Noise is of less concern as we plan to fold about 2000 pages per month, so it will not be difficult to schedule the machine to be in use when the office is empty.
    Any input helps. Thanks!

The 1217a won't do cardstock. You probably need a machine that will score the cardstock before folding or a knife folder.

You can get a folder with right angle attachment, score in main unit and fold in half in the attachment....

Hands down, I'd vote for the Morgana Digifold. There are 3 models. If you are low volume you might opt for the oldest model ... the MK1. It is slow and very loud but is super accurate and had a die creaser built in. It folds with BEAUTIFUL no crack scores. It is super simple to operate and setup. They are expensive but take up very little space and run on single phase power. Look them up on Youtube. Used ones turn up on ebay from time to time. We were skeptical at first, but after we saw the our first one perform, we bought a newer faster model to run along side it. Do not make a decision on a folder without checking these out. Good Luck!

I think 100lb card stock is good for folder printing
