Muller Martini BRAVO- HMI display problem.

Hi, we have a problem with a display for the control of a Muller Martini BRAVO machine. The keyboard and display are from the B&R company, model BRXTGR31.

In practice, the display reads RUN MODE and then "sporun: can't load "global.txt"
"sporun: program ends with an error #000:232

The Tx/Rx LEDs on the PLC flash but then stop once the error occurs.

We also tried looking for some programming manuals and the SPECTO-S software but we still couldn't find anything.

Can anyone help me solve it?
Obviously paying what is due.

Would it be possible to retrofit with something newer?

I worked on one of these about a year ago. Customer stated the manufacturer can retrofit these but it was somewehere in the rhealm of 45k (going off memory memory?). Fortunately I was able to fix the problem with the unit.

  • Hi sir
The global.txt is missing if you have a backup of the machine's software or configuration files, try restoring them to see if the issue resolves. Sometimes, restoring the configuration or system files can solve file loading errors.
Since the Tx/Rx LEDs flash and then stop after the error, it suggests the PLC may not be able to fully communicate with the display due to the missing file. Try checking the communication settings, cables, or connections between the display and the PLC
Sometimes updating the software or firmware can solve such errors. Try contacting B&R or Muller Martini support for an updated version of SPECTO-S or other related software
Yes sir ، retrofitting the system with newer hardware is possible, though it would require replacing the existing display, control systems, and potentially reprogramming the machine logic to interface with newer technology. You might need the help of an automation expert familiar with integrating modern HMIs with older machines.
