Hi before taking the plunge on buying new presses etc, I thought I would ask you guys if it is an investment worth doing? We currently have a fanchise with transfer prices and selling prices etc. Is it worth purchasing a press with the worry of employing a dedicated press operator to run this and maintain it etc or should we stay as we are, what are the pitfall to look out for with these machines? Thoughts and recommendations welcome.

Its not only buying a press and employing a press operator, you will need to maintain all consumables and raw materials and also press maintenance costs. Also you need other post press machinery to further process the printed materials.

  • that depends on your pricing, will you make money after all the bills are payed and how big of a machine. Ther is a huge difference in price from an 8 colour perfector to a 3302 ! what size are you thinking about? i make good money on the 8 colour but after four decades of making customers its a requierment now, the 3304 has its place too.
