We currently litho score on a sm102. Prepress combos up 15-20 diff. size cards that get scores and perfs. We do 2 runs a week 20m sheets per(28 x 40)80# matte cover.

Question: We would like to purchase a diecutter(bobst) but since every job has a diff. score templet we would need a diff. die for every run? Is it possible to do a lith score on a die cutter instead of buy new dies$$ for every run?

Hello, We're a die-maker and have a possible solution. We make die boards for a lot of Bobst presses. Some we have made have multiple channels burned in so that the press operator can put steel rule in wherever the scores land - giving flexible for positioning and usage with various press layouts. There are certain limitations, perhaps more limitations than not, that we'd have to collaborate on to find some commonalities from form to form and go from there.
