Is this counterfeit stamp printed by offset lithography?

I am researching a counterfeit postage stamp that was used to mail a Nigeria-type scam letter from France to the US. I am not an expert in printing methods, but based on my research, I believe it was printed by offset lithography, likely in China (which is believed to be the source of many other counterfeits). (The genuine stamp it imitates is engraved.) Below is an enlarged image. It is printed on very glossy paper. Am I right that it was printed by offset lithography and not some other method such as ink jet or giclee?

Not enough to tell here. Some body wanted it to look like litho or it is litho.

Looking at it under a loop would reveal more information, but from the looks of it, this is a 1-color print which usually indicates that it was printed offset. If it was inkjet or digital, you would see the CMYK dots...I only see purple here.

Thanks. I have read that similar postal forgeries of US stamps are printed offset.

Just to avoid any confusion, the avatar image I posted is of the genuine engraved stamp.
