    Hi,

I want to setup a print shop to print custom playing cards. What equipment do I need?

So, far I've come up with the following list:

    1) Digital press (not offset, because I will have small runs)
    2) Card cutter (something like Duplo DC-616 or Duplo DC-646)
    3) Round edge machine

The above will allow me to make the cards themselves. They will be packaged in tuck boxes, so I also need:

    4) Die cutter
    5) Folder-gluer
    6) Shrink wrap heat tunnel

I've heard that playing cards must be laminated or at least UV coated, otherwise they will not be slippery enough for shuffling. Is that true? I was kind of hoping to just print them on coated stock and was hoping it would be enough.

What other equipment would you recommend? Any general advice?

    Santos
